About Chris

Chris was raised in Weston, CT and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.  While working as a nurse and then a nurse manager in a hospital, Chris obtained her MBA.  Chris has a varied healthcare background having worked for providers (hospital), prescription benefit managers (PBM), Medicaid/Medicare HMO and commercial insurance companies.  Her responsibilities have included being an individual contributor, managing teams of employees, budgeting, process engineering, implementing government programs and strategic planning.

Chris started her career working as a nurse in a hospital in Chicago.  After 3 years, Chris was promoted to nurse manager and her responsibilities included budgeting, quality assurance, performance appraisals and client satisfaction.

After completing her MBA in marketing and management, Chris relocated with her family to Phoenix and started working for a prescription benefit manager as a process engineer.   After a year, Chris was promoted to a supervisor role in the eligibility department where she helped clients move from a paper submission of enrollment to an electronic one.

Chris transitioned to a Medicare/Medicaid HMO where she worked for 9 years with increasing levels of responsibilities.  She led the review and negotiation of vendor and customer contracts, had key involvement in the development of strategic plans, pricing proposals, major quotes and business cases.  Directed field support operations including tool management and remote troubleshooting.  Managed nationwide customer programs.  In addition, responsibilities have included directing efforts in employee development, training and communication.

After this, Chris transitioned to the commercial medical management aspect of healthcare and led client teams around meeting the needs of large self-insured clients. Chris has a  wide range of experience has included lead roles in analyzing State and Federal legislation, including HIPAA legislation, and determining impacts to business practices and profit levels.  Directed the effort to determine new programs and product offerings including development of best practices for managed care entities.  Business case development has ranged from documentation of business need, to profit and loss analysis for new product offerings and projects.

Chris’s passion is to help other businesses excel.  Her goal is to work with businesses on  the importance of process engineering, strategic planning and customer loyalty in order for them to excel.
